Volunteer Opportunity:

Brigade Boys & Girls Club - Full Day Enrichment Program Volunteer

Brigade Boys & Girls Club is looking for volunteers that would be willing to consistently assist youth (Elementary – High School age students) who are currently attending Brigade’s Full-Day enrichment program with completing their virtual schoolwork. Due to COVID-19, we are seeking individuals that are able to commit to at least one day a week of volunteering to reduce the number of different individuals coming in contact with our children and our staff. Volunteers will ideally be paired with a child that they consistently work with for relationship building purposes. The ideal volunteer candidate will have consistent availability, ample patience, passion for educating children, comfort working with a tablet or laptop, and experience working with children.

Specifics located below:

Who: Individuals 18 & older who are available at least one day a week, each week
What: Assisting children one-on-one to complete their virtual school work while they attend Brigade’s Full-day Enrichment Program
When: Volunteers are needed Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM to 1 PM, beginning the week of (1/4/2021) until the week of (5/31/2021)
Where: Brigade Boys & Girls Club’s Carl B. Brown Youth Center, Montgomery Register Teen Center (both located at 2759 Vance Street), and our Houston Moore Housing Site (1601 S. 13th Street).
Why: Many of our children need one-on-one assistance to complete their virtual school work using a Tablet or Laptop!
*Please Note* - All volunteers will be required to be temperature checked daily and wear a mask at all times while onsite at the Club. Volunteers will be required to complete a background check, complete orientation and receive training prior to beginning their role as a volunteer at Brigade.
