New Hanover Disaster Coalition

Volunteer Opportunity:
Crisis Cleanup Hurricane Preparedness Volunteers

This opportunity has passed.

Crisis Cleanup is a free service for disaster survivors. They simply call and a trained agent asks about their immediate needs. Once the interview is completed, the survivor's needs and information are made available to disaster teams working in the area. Whichever team is available and in the area contacts the survivor and helps to meet the immediate needs. In Isaias, those immediate needs are likely to be roof tarping, chainsaw work, muck-and-gut (flood response), and debris removal. This is an opportunity for you to help others from the safety of your home. Volunteer agents are needed right now. If you are in an agency or have a group to work with, could you be a group leader who can assign IDs and manage passwords. If you are an individual, you possibly could be put into a group. Indicate whether you are a single or a group on the sign up. For more information, call Ginny at (910) 338-9101. Volunteers will receive a video training before beginning.
