If you have an existing PayPal account, registering to accept donations from the SHARE Cape Fear website is easy! Please follow the 8 steps below and reach out to us if you have any questions.
Before getting started, you will need the login credentials (email address and password) for your nonprofit’s PayPal account.
Step 1: Login to SHARE Cape Fear
- Click the “Log In” button at the bottom of the SHARE Cape Fear home page
- You will be taken to your Nonprofit Profile
Step 2: Navigate to donations tab on profile page
- Click the “Donations” tab at the top of the page
- You will be taken to your Donation information

Step 3: Begin donations setup process
- Click “Start” button to go to PayPal login
Step 4: Enter the email address to use for PayPal
- Enter the email address for your nonprofit PayPal business account
- Click “Next”
- You will be taken to the PayPal Login
Step 5: Login to PayPal
- Enter your nonprofit’s PayPal email address
- Enter your nonprofit’s PayPal password
- Click “Login”
- You will be taken to the confirmation page, showing that you have authorized your PayPal account on SHARE Cape Fear
Step 6: Give SHARE Cape Fear permission to use PayPal to process your payments
- By clicking “I Give Permission”, you give SHARE Cape Fear permission to integrate your PayPal account into our site
Step 7: Receive confirmation that you have authorized SHARE Cape Fear to route donations to you
- Since you have an existing PayPal account, you should be all set to accept payments through SHARE Cape Fear
- Click the “Go Back” button to return to your Nonprofit Profile on SHARE Cape Fear
Step 8: Verify charity status of your PayPal account
PayPal has a special status for Nonprofits. The primary benefit of the designation is a lower transaction rate. If you did not complete this step when you originally set up your PayPal account, please do the following:
- Go to www.paypal.com/charities
- You will need to provide your organization’s Employer Identification Number (EIN)
- You will need to upload a copy of your organization’s Determination Letter
- You will need to verify your banking account information by uploading a copy of a voided check or a bank statement
