The Motherhood Mentor is an integral member of the Samara’s Village team. They are the program facilitator for our Partners for a Healthy Baby Curriculum and the lifeline between the organization and the female participant. As a Motherhood Mentor, she will meet with an assigned mother at least once each month for the duration of the participant's time in the program, which could begin at pregnancy and lasts until the baby turns three years old. During these encounters the Motherhood Mentor provides curriculum that is individualized for the participant that she has been assigned to. The Motherhood Mentor develops a relationship of trust and friendship with the participant. She also receives specialized training is provided within one year of approval of orientation into Samara's Village. Minimal technology skills are needed to report encounters with the participant and to check the volunteer's Samara's Village email account once per week.
