What We Do
The Bellamy Museum tells many stories: the story of its owners, a wealthy family with deep roots in the low country of the South; the story of the enslaved workers, those hired to build the site and those owned by the Bellamys; the story of the innovation in antebellum architecture and design; and the story of Wilmington, a city repeatedly torn apart by racial conflict.
Through a combination of daily tours, educational programming, permanent and rotating exhibits, and special events, the Bellamy Museum serves as not only a premier historic house museum but also as a community hub. The Museum serves over 28,000 visitors annually from all 50 states and more than 50 countries.
