What We Do
The Catholic Charities Wilmington food pantry serves those who are hungry in the Cape Fear area through distribution of non-perishable emergency food. This service is provided by staff and volunteers in partnership with the community, without regard to race or religion. The pantry is open Tuesday & Friday from 9 am – 11:30 am. Our direct assistance program provides baby clothing in sizes newborn to 24 months, diapers through a partnership with the Diaper Bank of NC, hygiene & household cleaning supplies, and an emergency utility assistance program to those who live in Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, and Pender County. Before, during, and after Hurricane season one of our priorities is making sure that our communities are ready for the next storm - please consider donating Hurricane preparedness supplies for us to distribute. Such supplies are things like hand crank radios, flashlights, batteries, water, first aid kits, solar lanterns, non-perishable foods, manual can openers, and water. Financial assistance is available to assist eligible families recovering from Hurricane Florence. Our bilingual DOJ Accredited Representative can assist in the completion and submission of various legal immigration documents including: Applications for Citizenship, Naturalization, and Family Based processes. Our professional staff also provide informational sessions to parish and community groups on immigration rights, responsibilities, and current immigration issues and resources.
