What We Do
Our group provides social and emotional support to widows based on the seven pillars of resiliency as directed by the national Modern Widows Club. We meet monthly to socialize and support one another and foster relationships though group discussions surrounding topics that are various issues of concern to widows. Modern Widows Club is the community that no one wanted to join, but becomes forever grateful to have found. We stand together in sadness and in joy, by embracing and supporting each other while honoring the legacy of our loved ones. A modern widow leans into life, builds resilience, while creating a positive difference in themselves, their families, their communities and in the world. We’re women. We’re widows. We’re mothers, grandmothers, daughters, granddaughters, aunts, sisters, neighbors, friends and families. We’re a community. We’re a movement. We’re thrivers!
Interesting Info
  • Two things you need outside yourself, to be more resilient, is a "tribe" and mentor. MWC provides both to widows who want to lean into life.
  • The median age a wife becomes a widow is 59. Most women are NOT prepared, you are not alone.
  • Raise awareness for the one million women who will become the widowed this year.
