What We Do
The North Carolina Coastal Federation works to protect and restore coastal water quality and habitats throughout the North Carolina coast by collaborating with and engaging people from all walks of life who are committed to preserving the coast for current and future generations.
Interesting Info
Throughout 2019 the Federation and N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries added nearly 11 acres of oyster reef to the Swan Island Oyster Sanctuary in Pamlico Sound.
In 2019, the federation reduced stormwater runoff by 7,700,000 gallons through many partnerships with local organizations and government agencies.
We work to maintain clean water quality, living shorelines, thriving oyster populations, good coastal management practices, and a coast that is free of debris.
