What We Do
Safe Haven of Pender, Inc. provides shelter, services, and resources to women, children and men who are victims/survivors of domestic violence. We also offer a 24-hour crisis hotline that can be reached at (910) 259-8989. As an agency, we seek: To serve as a center for which groups and individuals can address the concerns for victims of domestic violence. To empower victims of domestic violence. To reduce occurrences of domestic violence. To enhance available services and systems for victims including, but not limited to, emergency shelter, food and clothing, crisis intervention, counseling, legal advocacy, medical and mental health concerns. To heighten public awareness regarding domestic violence through community education. To hold the abuser accountable for his/her actions.

  • Last year, we responded to 450 crisis calls. We accommodated 89 shelter guests for 2,654 shelter nights. 49 families transitioned into their own safe places.
