What We Do
The Salvation Army of Cape Fear meets human needs in His name without discrimination-serving Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Pender and New Hanover Counties. We operate a Red Shield Shelter, Food Pantry, four Family Stores, and an extensive social services program.
Our Red Shield Shelter is located at 820 N. Second Street in Wilmington. A key component of the shelter is our Life Skills program which is designed to equip residents to return to stable housing and be productive members of the community. We serve community meals from this location each evening. Our Food Pantry is also located at our Second Street address.
Our Social Services outreach includes rent and utility assistance to qualified individuals and families. We also work hand in hand with government and community agencies to meet the needs of our region's underserved.
We work closely with New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender, Bladen and Columbus County partners to ensure our services are available throughout Eastern North Carolina.
The Salvation Army of Cape Fear provides help in times of disaster. Our mobile kitchens provide hot meals traveling throughout our five county region. Our outreach includes securing vital supplies as well as spiritual counseling.
The Family Stores provide affordable shopping of high quality second-hand clothes, household goods and furniture.
Our Christmas Angel program partners with the community to bring Christmas to many who otherwise would be without during the holidays.
The Salvation Army of Cape Fear Corps offers weekly programs including Sunday School, morning and evening worship services, youth and fine arts programs.
Our Women's Auxiliary program supports all of outreaches and welcomes anyone who is interested in the Salvation Army of Cape Fear.
