What We Do
Brains are built, not born! Smart Start of NHC supports parents, early educators, and the community at large as we all help children build amazing brains in their first 2,000 days of life.
Children build their brains in relationship with others. We provide information, coaching, training, and other supports to help those who care for children, from birth to kindergarten, strengthen their ability to provide responsive, nurturing and reliable interactions with children. These responsive interactions build foundational social and emotional skills and critical core skills that support our ability to focus, plan for and achieve goals, adapt to changing situations, and resist impulsive behaviors throughout our lives.
